More details
I am a participant in the Free State Project, www.freestateproject.org, which has the goal of getting 20,000 people to agree to move to New Hampshire where they will work to bring about a society in which government’s maximum role is protecting life, liberty, and property. However, I don’t want to wait for 20,000 to agree to move before relocating. I want to move now. I am calling on liberty lovers everywhere to move with me, to be a pioneer for freedom, to be a beacon of liberty in the Free State. Together we can bring about a state with increased liberties and reduced government. Join me!
All current FSP participants are urged to pledge to an early move. And those who have already moved (since 10/1/03) are also eligible for inclusion. For non-participants, signing the FSP’s SOI is not required, though we encourage it should you desire to do so. Of greater import, is creating the Free State we know *can* exist by gathering together and being activists for freedom.
New Hampshire was already one of the top states closest to the goal of liberty at the time of the state vote in 2003. At that time the participants chose New Hampshire among all of the ten candidate states to be the center of freedom in the United States. The state motto “Live Free or Die” personifies Granite State residents, who have an innate distrust of government and a lack of tolerance for it stepping out of bounds. The governorship is the weakest of all states due to constitutionally mandated checks and balances. The House of Representatives has 400 members which for this small state allows for perhaps the best representation in the country. State reps are motivated by a desire to serve the people as evidenced by the fact that their compensation is $100 year! Not professional politicians but rather concerned citizens are serving! For more information on New Hampshire visit the FSP NH Info webpages.
Already, early movers are having an impact towards a free society. Several early movers have run for office and some have won! Other early movers have been appointed to offices on school, budget, and planning committees/boards. The New Hampshire Liberty Alliance (http://nhliberty.org), founded by FSP participants, produces an annual report card on our Representatives (http://nhliberty.org/2005ReportCard) as well as closely screens all new proposed legislation. Another early mover founded a scholarship fund (http://www.lsfund.org/) to help families tied to the public school system to use a private school or try homeschooling. Several instances of civil disobedience have been staged to bring to light overbearing state controls (http://www.fosters.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...). And several public gatherings related to social security card abuse, and eminent domain have been held (http://www.nhfree.com/). A newly relocated Porcupine is now Chair of the New Hampshire Republican Liberty Caucus (http://nh.rlc.org/), another participant is the Democratic Freedom Caucus chair and several LP leaders are also FSP participants. Participants who signed up before the vote but who have always lived in New Hampshire, continue to be active in keeping the government in check!
Come join me in New Hampshire! Let's build a Free State together!

The truth is, I was not sure I would be able to make it to NH by 2008. However, after learning about all of the great stuff that is going on in NH, I am not sure if I can make it if I am not in NH by 2008 :)
Okay Liberty Lovers you got 2 years to get your stuff together!
I am writing to tell you that I moved to New Hampshire on 01 November 2004, with my wife and daughter, and have had another child since the move. We live in Newport, Co. Sullivan, New Hampshire, and have gotten a lot of positive feedback from members of the surrounding community to my libertarian party windbreaker and tee-shirts.
Don't forget to join our group(s) on upcoming:
http://upcoming.org/group/1089/
Maybe that should be my next pledge?
Looking forward to making a difference,
Larry House
Let's go now.
As an early participant, I must say how much I thank you all for joining us so we could reach 5000 members and select such a wonderful state for our project! My first visit to New Hampshire was to attend Porcfest 05 and I was very pleased with the "Live Free or Die" state! I decided even before leaving Porcfest 05 that I was going to move as soon as I could get home and pack. Several weeks into preparations I decided that since I was "lightening the load" for the move, I would stay "light" for a year and visit Austin, Texas to help my friend Michael Badnarik with his congressional campaign. As you all know, Michael is a Free State Project Member and he was the 2004 Libertarian Presidential Candidate (on the ballot in 48 states)! Just imagine what it's going to be like with a declared Libertarian elected to congress! Politics will change forever with the "one creature with two heads body politic" slain. Michael's race is "everyperson's" race since he will represent all of us in our efforts and desire to return our "out of control" government back to it's Constitutional Republic roots and We The People! Just as our Founding Fathers pledged their freedom, fortunes, and sacred honor...we have done so also...by joining the FSP...and I am continuing that pledge by helping my friend Michael. Won't you join us today and volunteer, contribute, and endorse Michael in this, most important, election. Please visit our website and keep up to date via our blog! Oh, I almost forgot to add that Michael has written a book, teaches a constitution class, and is also a Liberty Associate with the Liberty Dollar! Learn more at www.constitutionpreservation.org! Thanks again, to all of you, for standing tall in your freedom and for giving everyone else total respect for their liberty! Let's continue to judge all past, current, and future codes, laws, regulations, rules, etc. by their conformity to the "Zero Aggression Principle" AND "The Golden Rule." "When in doubt, throw them out..." That goes double for the corrupt politicians and triple for the judges who subvert the constitution and the people each and every day!

In Sweden we still have a Goverment that likes high taxes and is CompanySHY, and the other parties that is the opposite almost never wins, so i will only be happy to move, is a long dream come true, live and work without the goverment steal my money, that i need to Survive...
Have a good Day or Evening!
With kind regards
Nils Petter Nilsson
Good luck anyway, and I'll see you all in the Free State!
Same thing for family members: Don't sign just once per family, each member can sign...
I look forward to living among like minded individuals. What a great state to raise children and provide them with a better future.
I currently reside in (not so) Great Britain, and have been thinking of returning to the United States, or perhaps even Canada (if they'd have me and my Son too?).
I've recently begun to learn that you should FOLLOW YOUR HEART and DO THINGS which you passionately believe in - and this my friends is one of those times! Who knows, maybe I'll meet that special someone, fall in love and someday we'll start our own little family right there in New Hampshire? :D
In the legendary words of Freddie Mercury: "I want to break free, yeah!"
I've been here for over a year now (103rd mover), and I'm not leaving if this petition doesn't get to 1,000.
If so, please email Brian Gottstein at info@CreatePositiveImpact.com or call him at 540-309-8255, and he will show you a sample news release. With your approval, he will send it to your local media.
Thanks in advance for your consideration. This is an easy way to help the FSP, and maybe see your name in the paper!
This movement is exactly what we need, and I for one am thrilled. Americans who actually care about the freedoms vouchsafed to us by the Founding Fathers and who are not willing to let a pit full of vipers watch the baby need very much to band together, stand up, and be heard in a mighty collective voice. I'll be there... will you?
I hope to see you all some day soon, my liberty minded friends!
Live free or die!
(I'd prefer the former!)
Don't suppose you have room for a Canadian there, do you?
As I said in my "I Made the Move" story http://freestateproject.org/community/mo..., there is a level of grassroots political activism here in New Hampshire that I haven't seen since the early 1970's. Free State Project early-movers are already taking active roles in their new communities in so many different ways.
The Free State Project early-movers are like true pioneers, laying the groundwork, clearing the fields, and planting the crops that will support the liberty-loving communities of New Hampshire's future, and I'm proud to be a member of this group!
Best regards,
Doug McFarland
As I walked my 6 year old son down our dirt road to the bus stop, he talked about the beauty of the woods, kicking the leaves and picking up a stick to be his toy sword on the walk. This is his first New Hampshire Autumn, and I was reminded, through his eyes, of the beauty of the State we now call home.
His mother and I grew up in New England. Career and commerce brought us to Ohio 6 weeks after our youngest son's birth. As I started my own company in 2005, gaining the geographic freedom that brought, we decided to relocate to New Hampshire. Family, friends, and 'live free or die' contributed to the choice. With some hesitation, I signed the Free State Project and First 1000 Pledge. I have never been much of a joiner.
Residents of the state since May of 2006, we love our land, our schools and the interest our neighbors take in maintaining liberty. I hope many other independent and freedom-minded people will join us as citizens.
Cooper.

P.S. If anyone else has any First 1000 or FSP questions, please do the same!
I know it is not a legally binding agreement, but giving my word is just as strong a compunction for me.
I don't give my word if I am not certain I can follow through. It is an honor thing.
I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you in NH....
Although I was one of the first to sign onto this project, I am oddly one of the last to sign the First 1000. I suppose it does not matter when you get there, so long as you make your way in due time, and so I look forward to seeing you all there.
I was never quite sure what my role in all this will be, but over the past few years I've put some thought into it and hope I can bring as many of my ideas to fruition as possible.
Is there any possibility there could be improvements in this area in the future? Obviously subway systems are expensive (there may be other options) and low taxes are why we love NH in the first place but are there any responses out there to this concern?
Please email me at president@freestateproject.org. I'd like to converse with you about your removal. Thanks.

I don't intend to immigrate to USA just so I can end up in another communist's states possesion!
Rather than living in cardboard, Hollywood-like virtual freedom, come to New Hampshire and help us create REAL LIBERTY and FREEDOM!
Free people live courageously and enjoy the vapor mist which is life!
Perhaps you should look into spending your summers in New Hampshire? There will be plenty for you to do, and there's no nicer place to spend a summer!
Matt
Thank you! See you in New Hampshire.

Good luck freedom lovers! I hope to join you all some day!
I am among the signers of the first 1000 pledge and just got word that the goal has been met. This is a milestone for the Free State Project, and I commend those that have worked so hard in order to aquire this goal. I learned of the first 1000 at the LP National Convention in Portland this past July, but I did not sign until December when it appeared to be a lost cause. It's a long move from WA to NH, and I had to know I that I was needed before jumping on board.
Well, I'm moving to NH soon. Going to be a "Live free or die" tycoon!
So much for my paritiy of Frank Zappa's tune.
See you at the next Porc Fest,
Dan Goebel

I am now caretaking at the Landing Zone in Grafton, where we just hosted our first incoming Porcupine. I've done odd jobs, made lots of friends, and I wonder why anybody would hold out. Just do it!
