Just as the Japji Sahib contains the essence of the entire Siri Guru Granth Sahib, so the Mool Mantra contains the essence of the Japji Sahib. The Mool Mantra is one of two mantras given to us by our Tenth Master (Guru Gobind Singh) - the Guru mantra (Waheguru!) and the Mool Mantra. Through reciting the Mool Mantra, the soul is fed.

The pledge is to meditate and chant the mulmantra for at least 11 minutes each day for 40 days (or more if you would like to continue!).

  ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਤੀ ਗਣਤ ਜਿ ਰਖੈ ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਗਇਆ ॥
  सतिगुर सेती गणत जि रखै हलतु पलतु सभु तिस का गइआ ॥
  One who enters into a calculated relationship with the True Guru loses everything, this world and the next.

  ਗਣਤ ਗਣੈ ਸੋ ਜਲੈ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
  गणत गणै सो जलै संसारा ॥
  One who calculates his accounts, burns in the world.
  
  
  ਸਹਸਾ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਚੁਕੈ ਵਿਕਾਰਾ ॥
  सहसा मूलि न चुकै विकारा ॥
  His skepticism and corruption are never dispelled.
  
  
  ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੁ ਗਣਤ ਚੁਕਾਏ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਇਦਾ ॥੯॥
  गुरमुखि होवै सु गणत चुकाए सचे सचि समाइदा ॥९॥
  
  One who becomes Gurmukh abandons his calculations; through Truth, we merge in the True Lord. ||9||

  Request pls go thru the above message of Guru Granth Sahib before start reciting His name by counting (40 times). He bestows His unlimited blessings upon all then why should we take His name or recite Mool Manter, Japji Sahib etc. by counting. Start remembering Him with every breath of your life.
  
  Understand Gurbani's each word rather than reciting the same without practising.
