Varien (company behind Magento) is offering $300 worth of Amazon vouchers to the winner of the developer challenge #1: http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/vi...
The community has indicated they want to contribute too in order to further spur on developers. I think it would be nice to ad $700 to the $300 to make it $1K for the winner. We can use PledgeBank until maybe one day there is a concerted Magento effort for a developer cash pool.
For transparency, this Pledge honours the official winner as decided by Varien at their discretion.
70 People pledging $10 would do the trick but feel free to pledge more. Yes, open source coders like coding for the love of helping the community but frankly, money pays their bills so let's dangle a big juicy carrot and see what they can come up with!
