It was a toss-up between writing about Henrietta Leavitt (astronomy clerk who, using Cepheid Variable stars, managed to find a yardstick to calculate the immense size of the Universe) and 60s electronic music pioneer, Delia Derbyshire.

In the end, Delia won out, simply because Ms. Leavitt had no albums I could listen to while writing.
