"Stop the Silence" is a charity for the victims of child sexual abuse. Daniel Felix is running the Marine Corps Marathon (26.2 miles, 10.25.2009, Washington D.C.) to raise over $1,000 for "Stop the Silence". Daniel will run with other members of Marathon Charity Partners (MCP). PledgeBank is one avenue Daniel will use to raise the funds for the victims of this horrible crime. I hope you will help too!
- donate $10 to Rep. Jenn Coffey and volunteer at least 5 hours of time to her 2010 re-election
- volunteer my time and energy to support keeping the branch libraries open for Evanston residents.
- contribute to the effort, "Give-a-Book: Help a Child Learn,"
- run at least 20 miles each week until April 5th,

~Nearly 70% of all reported sexual assault cases occur to children ages 17 and under.
~30-40% of victims are abused by a family member, or a trusted friend; and approximately 40% are abused by older or larger children whom they know.
~The median age for reported abuse is 9-years old.
~More than 20% of children are sexually abused before the age of 8.
Child sexual abuse has been reported up to 80,000 times a year, but the number of unreported instance is far greater because children are afraid to tell anyone what has happened. Stop the Silence! Stop the Silence! Stop the Silence....
